Well traveled food a little off the beaten path

Well traveled food a little off the beaten path

Destination

Little Kitchen is located in Sai Wai Ho, which is on the Eastern side of Hong Kong Island. The area was once home to squatter settlements, which were later recreated into the residential district of today. Additionally, extensive reclamation efforts reshaped the shoreline and modern Sai Wan Ho was born.

Recently, the city has grown laterally, moving further afield to find more colorful areas and reasonable rents. Sai Wan Ho has benefited from this growth and still maintains a nice balance of grit and modernity.

Building

Little Kitchen is located in a renovated Tong Lau, and maintains much of its original history and charm.

Market

Sai Wan Ho Street is home to an historic market that has served its local community for years.

Transportation

Little Kitchen is easily reached by MTR or public transport, and has convenient street parking.

Little Kitchen offers a simple, comfortable space for a relaxed meal. Serving a maximum of 24 guests a night, your seat will be yours for the entire evening. There is a mix of semi-communal seating and individual tables.

We have a strict BYOB policy but do not charge corkage, so feel free to bring your best tipple. We're not a house party, so the preference is for wine, beer, port, etc., as opposed to hard liquor.

We offer a weekly menu consisting of a recommended 4-course set. The portions are appropriately sized, but a 3-course or 2-course option is available. We require at least 24 hours notice for specific dietary requirements. We do not offer a vegan menu.

It is a Western-based cuisine with influences from everywhere. The Chef focuses on bringing seasonal and intense flavors to the table. We guarantee that no specific dish will ever be repeated.

No Service Charge. Ever.

David Forestell

Chef

"I love to eat. I love to cook. I love to share with others. I've worked all my professional life in kitchens, from eateries to hotels to private service for temperamental billionaires. The one thing I've found that all people have in common, regardless of race, creed or wallet size, is a passion for good food. I love being a part of that."
